Pocono Raceway is recognized as one of NASCAR’s most competitive raceways. The track features three curves, each with its own degree of banking. The track design produces fender to fender action and 200 mph photo finishes in Pocono, Pa.

History of Pocono Raceway

The raceway first opened in 1968, with the first NASCAR race in 1974. Pocono experienced many financial woes, but came out of it on top. In 1990, Pocono opened its doors once more to the NASCAR circuit and has become the most competitive raceway in the country. Drivers to see the winner's circle at Pocono include Dale Jarrett, Joff Gordon, Bobby Allison and Darrell Waltrip.
